My layout puts both the links list and the navigation module at the bottom when I'm on mobile. I found that really annoying, so I added a list of "mobile links" to my stickypost with everything that I wanted. That might be something to consider if there are shortcuts you want to add there.
But your journal is pretty easy to use; its layout keeps the nav links at the top. So I don't think it's a must-have in your case.
