I think the biggest thing is to use tags that make sense to you, because ultimately what will help visitors more than anything else is consistency. I may not know exactly what "drinking without pants" will mean in regards to post content, though of course I have an idea that they might be a hodgepodge of topics and more casual in nature haha.
If I click a tag and see the way you use that tag it will help me more than you having multiple tags that are more "accurate" in regards to labeling the specific post content. I looked at your sidebar and I don't envy you paring them down because a lot of those topics are tougher to label or categorize in concise ways. It's much different from me deciding whether to merge separate fic challenge tags into a singular fic challenge tag!
