As July draws to a close, it’s time to wrap up this year’s [community profile] sunshine_challenge. I don’t know about you guys, but this month seemed to fly by in no time at all. Though July may be over, please keep in mind that there is no deadline for any of our prompts; feel free to answer any prompt or comment as you discover it.

If you have already answered the challenges and would like to follow any new replies that may come in, you can choose to “Track This” by clicking the little bell icon at the bottom of each prompt post. That will then send you an alert anytime someone new comments there. If you are finding the [community profile] sunshine_challenge after July, please go ahead and attempt any of the challenges that appeal to you and reply to anyone there. We all came here to have fun and meet new folks on DW, so don’t be shy simply because you found us at a later date.

♥ You can find all of the 2020 challenges linked at the Master List.

♥ If you create any fanworks, feel free to add them to our AO3 Collection (and don't forget to check out what others have already added as well).

There were a LOT of thoughtful, creative entries this year already, so I would like to call this a success! If you haven’t had a chance to investigate them all, please take the time to go back and enjoy them now. The goal of the [community profile] sunshine_challenge is to provide a little bit of sunshine to the community here, which we hope to do in the form of prompting discussions between community members and shining a spotlight on all the creative souls who call DW home. We hope we made your 2020 just a little bit brighter.

Stay subscribed to this page so that you don’t miss us in 2021. Be sure to follow [community profile] snowflake_challenge for their January event. Take care!

Insight, understanding, and creativity are some wonderful qualities to concentrate on for our final 2020 prompt. Here we ask you: what things are you able to offer others to bring a little sunshine into their lives?

If you are able, we encourage you to share the things you could offer as gifts. Maybe you can offer to make icons, fanmixes, sketches, or drabbles? Or to leave a kind word on someone’s fanwork? Maybe you are fond of gathering photos from the web or can share favorite recipes?

Don’t take on more than you can handle, but if you are able to share one nice thing for another participant, that would be great! If taking requests is not feasible, please do answer the prompt as you are inspired to. We’d love to see what you’re able to share. ♥

You can do them on your private journal or in public posts, the choice is yours. If you’re shy we have places for lurkers, too. We want you all to have fun and enjoy the challenge in whichever way works best for you.

Although [community profile] sunshine_challenge is being hosted on DW, if you don't have an account here, please feel free to comment anonymously and sign your (fan)name. A brief hello from your 2020 mods below the cut! )

The [community profile] sunshine_challenge is about celebrating fandom itself and the awesome people in it. One way we can do that is by interacting with each other. Every time you visit the journal of a fellow participant and comment on what they're sharing, you are helping to create this community. Fandom is about love: love of books and writers, movies and actors, music and musicians, comics and their creators, but it's also about being with and appreciating other fans and letting them know they matter. We all could use a little sunshine in our lives. ♥
