Prompt 1: Amber
Amber was believed by the Vikings to be the tears of Freyja, their goddess of love and beauty. It symbolises cleansing, healing, protection, renewal; some have believed it to symbolise a resting place for departed souls due to the preserved insects in the resin. It has been used as a talisman for courage and confidence. Amber is one of the birthstones of Taurus as it's known to increase good luck, as well as helping Taurus personalities in their practical ventures.

Oooh! I'm already getting ideas for my sub theme this year...
But I found this funny because I always thought of Amber as MY birthstone and I'm a Leo... turns out that it's not quite a Leo Birthstone but I am in the range for it to be my "Natural Birthstone" according to this. Seems that there's month and zodiac birthstones???? I tried to dig a little deeper and just got more confused.

Hahaha man oh man can I relate to the digging deeper and being more confused part (though most of the stones did seem to have both month and zodiac associations, so there may be a system there somewhere). If you feel a pull to amber as a personal stone, you should continue to enjoy it regardless of where your birthdate falls. It seems it still fits your birth month, though!

Right here, right now, I must absolutely recommend Roger Zelazny's Chronicles of Amber, a fantasy classic chock full of the most amazing casual magic and plenty of Chaos (with a capital "C")! Published from 1970 until 1991, it's still a delightful romp through a virtual amusement park of multiverses, mayhem, and intrigue. :D

But - here's my entry for "amber": a drabble in which Jesus and Lucifer set out on a course of discovery.
